Dal 3 al 8 settembre_Now is the time_un evento dedicato a Norman McLaren

L’evento “Now is the time” dedicato all’animatore canadese Norman McLaren continua a settembre!  Vi aspettiamo dal 3 al 8 settembre con tante attività che vi porteranno più vicini all’arte dell’animazione e al processo creativo di uno dei più grandi artisti e animatori di tutti i tempi.

In programma: proiezioni di alcuni film di animazione tra quali “Neighbours” premio Oscar 1952, un inedito workshop di animazione “Flip & Lines” fra analogico e digitale, e un nuovo format digital Sketchmob in una sessione di disegno animato collaborativo con il software Lines.

L’evento è curato dall’associazione culturale Arkipelag in collaborazione con mare culturale urbano, e si terrà durante il festival di cinema all’aria aperta “Dopo andiamo al mare”.

Con il patrocinio dell’ Ambasciata del Canada a Roma, Delegazione del Québec a Roma, National Film Board of Canada, con il supporto dello Studio Cicciotun e la sponsorizzazione tecnica di Microsoft e Paper & People.

“Now is the time” continues from 3 to 8 of September! The event is dedicated to the creative process of Norman McLaren, the Canadian worldwide acclaimed animator and visual artist.

In the program: screenings of some of the most notable short films directed by McLaren, among which “Neighbours” 1952 Academy Award winner, the workshop “Flip & Lines” exploring the boundaries between analog and digital in animation,  and a new digital Sketchmob format in a collaborative animation session with the software Lines.

The event is curated by Arkipelag cultural association in collaboration with mare culturale urbano  and will take place during the open air cinema festival “Dopo andiamo al mare”.

With the endorsement of:  Ambasciata del Canada a Roma, Delegazione del Québec a Roma, National Film Board of Canada con il supporto dello Studio Cicciotun e la sponsorizzazione tecnica di Microsoft e Paper & People.

Oggi alle 15:30 Sketchmob a Gallarate.

Avremo la possibilità di disegnare i spazi interni della Tessitura Bassetti, presente dal 1908 nell’attuale sede di via Novara, edificio industriale considerato uno dei maggiori esempi di stile liberty nella provincia di Varese.

Alle 18.30 ci sposteremo al MAGA – Museo Arte Gallarate e per guardare tutti i disegni realizzati e per un rinfresco presso il bar con uno sconto riservato ai partecipanti.

Quasi una settimana dopo lo Sketchmob di Venezia siamo ancora riscaldati dalla piacevole sensazione di essere e disegnare insieme in un luogo molto particolare. Si tratta dell’area ex industriale Junghans, trasformata in un quartire residenziale, dove lo stile industriale del’ottocento si intreccia con interventi di architettura contemporanea nei progetti di Cino Zucchi, Boris Podrecca, Giorgio Bellavitis e Luciano Parenti.

Almost a week after the last Sketchmob in Venice we are still touched by the warm feeling of drawing and being together in a special place. This time we went to the former industrial area Junghans in Gidecca, Venice. The particularity of the place is the interlocking of 18th century industrial architecture  with contemporary interventions by Cino Zucchi, Boris Podrecca, Giorgio Bellavitis e Luciano Parenti.

Domani 18.10. 2014

Dopo esserci ritrovati alle 14.30 davanti al negozio Moleskine in Stazione Santa Lucia a Venezia, ci si dirigerà verso il luogo dello Sketchmob.
Se c’è bel tempo si andrà alla Giudecca, nell’area ex Junghans, dove ci sono diverse recenti opere di architettura contemporanea (housing), e nell’area industriale otto-novecentesca ex Dreher e Molino Stucky.
Se invece c’è brutto tempo, si va alla Cappella dei Lucchesi e dei chiostri ottocenteschi del complesso di Santa Fosca, dove è possibile disegnare al riparo dalle intemperie.
La scelta verrà effettuata il giorno stesso. A tutti i partecipanti verrà data la mappa e le istruzioni per raggiungere il luogo dello Sketchmob, che saranno allegate a questo foglio.
Ognuno è libero di disegnare quello che vuole, con la tecnica che più gli aggrada.
Preferibilmente sarebbe bello disegnare l’architettura e gli spazi, interni o esterni, o quello che maggiormente attrae la nostra attenzione, realizzando disegni d’insieme o di dettaglio, nella tecnica che più ci aggrada.
Alle ore 19 ci si ritroverà tutti nel posto indicato nella mappa per guardare assieme i nostri disegni, osservarli e commentarli.
Dopo ci si ritroverà tutti da Vino Vero in Fondamenta della Misericordia per un apertivo.

Santa Lucia train station in Venice, the group will proceed towards the Sketchmob location.
In case of good weather the Sketchmob location will be Giudeca, in the ex Junghans area where there are several recent contemporary housing projects, and in the in the former 18th-19th century industrial area ex Dreher and Molino Stucky. In case of rain or  the Sketchmob will take place at the Capella dei Lucchesi and in the 18th century cloister in the Santa Fosca complex, where will be possible to draw sheltered from the bad weather.
The location will be decided and communicated the same day of the event. All participants will receive a detailed map with the directions on how to reach the location of the Sketchmob. There are no restrictions on the technique or tools used to draw. Although the focus of the drawing session is the internal and external space, all participants are free to draw the subject of their choice.
The session will end at 19.00 with a meeting and informal review of the drawings in the place indicated on the map. In this occasion we will have the opportunity to look at all drawings and comment them.
We will all gather at Vino Vero in Fondamenta della Misericordia for a snack and a glass of wine.
